Korey Meets Plex And His First Rochester Red Wings Baseball Game!

This is another great Daddy moment! If you are not familiar with my boyfriend's job he delivers newspapers every night, yes EVERY night. He has not had a day off in 2 years, he is such an amazing man for how much work he does. Since he is out every night he listens to the radio and just happened to catch hearing Plex from Yo Gabba Gabba would be visiting the Rochester Red Wings . In the morning when I woke I was told to pack up and get ready for a visit to Rochester. We are lucky enough to live right in between two major cities, so I was excited that we were leaving for the day.

When I heard it was to see Plex, I even squealed with glee! Korey watched some Yo Gabba Gabba in the morning and we made sure to point out to him that he would be seeing Plex, the same beanie character that he carried around all day. Now I have seen many children meet characters in suits and knew the chances of a child crying are 50/50 we I was well prepared for that. If you remember earlier though, Korey has met Spongebob and he didn't tear up. Same with Santa and the Easter Bunny.

It was rainy on the way there but once we arrived the rain had stopped. Out we set with Duder (one of Korey's many many nicknames) to find Plex. It was a bummer when we found Plex that he was about to head for a break, but they let us get a quick picture with him. Guess what happened? Yup, my baby cried and cried. He refused to take a picture without Daddy so this is the only good photo of them with Plex that I got. I don't even want to go into how much we paid to park and get tickets to the game, because really we did fully go to see Plex. Oh well I said after Plex took his break, we knew this could happen.

So we went and looked around at the different food they offered and looked at the gift shop for the team. Keith and I both said we are definately coming back to try the different food they have, they have cheesecake on a stick! I workout so I like a treat every now and then. Prepare for lots of pictures of the rest of our day at Frontier Field!

I LOVE photos of them walking holding hands :)

Yummy funnel cake!

Yeah we saw Plex again before we left. He still wasn't having it.

My two favorite boys!

The Time That Korey Met Spongebob Squarepants!

If you take as many pictures as I do I'm sure that you are probably behind in updating family and even your blog readers with photos and adventures you and your family have been on. While going through my photos and organizing them I found the photo of Korey visiting Spongebob Squarepants at our local library. He had a blast and the library staff thought he was so adorable. Credit goes out to Keith his father for finding out about the event and running him up there after breakfast!

Korey is wearing a Spongebob hat, shirt and socks. If you notice his Daddy also is wearing a Spongebob shirt!

Personalized Stories For Your 'Little Super' From Paper Hat Press

Paper Hat Press is a great company that makes personalized books for children. With titles such as Whose Birthday Is It?, Little Star and more, you are bound to find the perfect book for your child. These are perfect keepsakes for your child and to give as gifts! Each book comes wrapped in a paper that you can turn into your very own paper hat!

For my review I chose Little Super. I love that I got to choose the color of the child's hair, eyes and how long the hair was even! Below you can see an example of the different characters they have to choose from. These are truly personalized books at their best. In this story I was able to select Korey's favorite animal, which is our cat Knives, and then list the reasons why we believe he is super. Throughout the book Korey finds himself asking what his super powers are, and finding out all the things superheroes have to do every day.

I love that we get to add our reasons why we believe Korey is super, and not just something generic that is made up for every child. When I was little I remember getting my first, and only, customized book for me and I felt so special looking through it knowing that the story was about me and the character looked like me! While Korey may still be a little young for this character I know that he will enjoy it even more when he is older.

Each Paper Hat Press book comes in hardcover, which is perfect for these keepsakes to keep them from getting ruined. It is so easy to order books from Paper Hat Press you simple first pick your book which you can browse from age and gender, second add the personal information to customize your book to your child. This could be pets names, favorite food, name, birthday and more. Each book arrives via FedEx and at the most you have to wait 2 weeks. Each book retails for $39.95 and is more than worth the price!

You can connect with Paper Hat Press on their website and Facebook Page.

Which Paper Hat Press book if your favorite?

I Think We're Done With Bottles!

On my Facebook page I had asked if anyone had any tips on going from bottle to sippy cup. I took one of the tips and started using sippy cups at lunch and then just slowly started introducing them more and more. Well I think we are all done with formula and bottles!

Korey has been taking sippy cups of milk with no problem anymore. He loves drinking everything out of the sippy cups now, juice, water and milk. It was bitter sweet packing up all the bottles and putting them away. I remember going shopping for those bottles and all the other bottles we tried. I'm being strong through this process of saying good bye to my baby and hello to my little toddler.

Seeing how much he keeps growing still surprises me though. I know that he won't be stopping any time soon but I just wish we could go a little slower. I'm so proud of you duder!

What Should I Be Teaching My Son?

I'm not trying to brag when I write this post, just want to get that out there. My son is learning things so quickly, things he is even teaching himself every day. He now says "Kitty, Doggy, Spongebob, Hi,Bye,Daddy, Dad,Mom,Mommy,Baba", and most of that he learned in two days. He understands so much that we say now too! He loves toys with wheels on them, things that go in and out of each other and musical toys.

So now my question is with him learning things so quickly what should I be trying to teach him? Should sharing, colors, numbers, people's names, or an ability like stacking be what is next? I really don't know.

What did you try to teach your child after they turned one?

Here's some toys I'm thinking about picking up for him to learn new things.

Planning For Number 2!

Yes you read that right! We're not starting yet but we've talked about it and we want to start within the next year so I am starting to go through everything I can think of that I need to get ready for number 2 or that I want to accomplish before number 2.

1. Lose Weight. I want to lose at least 50 pounds before having another baby. I would love to lose more but I don't want to upset myself if I don't meet the goal. I see 50 being very reasonable as long as I work at it.

2. Spend Time With The Duder. I am going to make sure Korey has a good relationship with me before the baby comes along. He is great with his Daddy all the time but we have our tifs.

3. Get Rid Of The Extra Stuff. We received many hand me downs that are just not salvageable anymore. Too much extra stuff that will not be able to be used again.

Right now that's what I can think of off the top of my head but I know that as it gets closer more and more things will come to me. I am excited for there to be a number 2 eventually and I am going to be appreciating this alone time with Korey. I know he will be a great big brother though and he's getting more bored playing by himself but he loves the neighbors children! Stay tuned for more updates about baby number 2!

What A Birthday Week!

Korey's 1st birthday was April 26th. He got an early start to his birthday though when a present from my brother and sister-in-law arrived at the door step!

He received a Little Tikes Handle Haulers® Haul & Ride and boy does he love it! I will be doing a review on this because it was a fantastic birthday present.

Knives, the cat, took over his Cars 2 couch from my mom.

Lots of Yo Gabba Gabba stuff! A Brobee pillow, nap mat, new sheets and a blankie that he now carries around the room.

His banner really rocked too! I was so happy with it. We had everyone who came sign his banner and we will be hanging it up in his room. There will be more pictures of the festivities to come later.
