Our Fun Day Out At Aquarium Of Niagara! Perfect Day-cation.

The other day I woke up to Keith getting Korey dressed and feeding him breakfast with a gleam in his eyes. Apparently while I was sleeping he decided he wanted us out of the house that day. He wanted to go and do something that Korey would like, and he voted for the Aquarium Of Niagara. I was excited because I have never been, and I knew Korey would have a great time just being around other people. Earlier in the year I bought my annual Entertainment Book and it had a free admission when we bought one, which worked out perfectly. Admission is as follows, and membership information can be found here:

ADULTS$10.00
SENIORS (60 and Above)$8.00
CHILDREN (3 to 12)$6.00
INFANTS (2 and Under)FREE

When we arrived we saw the outdoor seals being fed. These are Harbor Seals every one of them has a different sort of injury or disability that they were born with or received. Some of these seals have been with the aquarium for over 10 years!  You can watch the Harbor Seals being fed and learn more about them at 11:00 AM and 3:30 PM daily. Also during those times you could get the chance to feed one of the seals for $5.

Once inside the first exhibit you see is the penguins of course! Their feedings are scheduled at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, if you do want to watch the feeding make sure you give yourself time as it can get quite crowded in front of the penguins quickly. Keith held Korey and pointed out the penguins to him, this is where I got nervous. Korey's not one yet and I was hoping he wasn't going to be to young to enjoy everything around him. Immediately his eyes darted to the penguins and he pointed at them, listening to everything his daddy was telling him.

There is a lot of information about each exhibit and their animals throughout the entire aquarium. Even though Korey is still to young to enjoy what they say, he still loved seeing the animals in the exhibits and us telling him what they were.

There are several tanks with different fish in them that are also at small children's level. Of course these were Korey's favorite. He pointed to the fish as they kept swimming by, he even tried petting them! It was so adorable. I loved that fact that he noticed each tank had something different in them, his eyes watched each fish and got excited every time they swam.

The tropical fish tanks were so beautiful to look at. All the different colors of fish and watching the Anemone move back and forth was so cool! I know it sounds like mommy had a better time than everyone else, but no we ALL had a blast.

There's just something about watching your child learn and focus on different things they've never been able to see before that just brings a smile to your face. I loved watching Korey get excited at every new thing he seen, yes he may not understand everything that is going on but he focused on each exhibit we went to and pointed at everything we pointed at.

The highlight of the trip was watching the sea lions training. There were three different sea lions and you can sit and watch them on the second floor of the aquarium. Korey got excited when everyone was told to clap when the sea lions did a trick. He clapped right along with everyone and just thought it was so much fun. The sea lions were so adorable each with their own type of clapping, and there was a HUGE male sea lion that was sooo loud but he was cute!

Here is a video of one of the sea lions that performed! They are all so cute.

If you're ever around Niagara Falls whether on the Canadian side or the American, you should go and check out the Aquarium of Niagara for a fun filled family day and lots of information you can learn!
