I had a request from a reader for the recipe for the macaroni and broccoli seen in the Kraft Stuffed Breaded Chicken recipe. It is one that Keith makes quite often so we have it down pretty much to a T.
Cheesy Macaroni and BroccoliServes 4-6For cheese sauce:8 oz. cubed Velveeta block of cheese1 Tbsp. minced garlic1/4 cup of milk2 Tbsp. butter
2 Cups cooked pasta of your choice (we've used penne and spiral with great success)1 cup BroccoliBread crumbs for toppingShredded mild cheddar and mozzarella for toppingcrumbled bacon(optional)
The size should be about a cube of cheese that you usually see sold as snacks. This helps them melt quicker.
Preheat oven to 350F.Next add the garlic and milk to the cheese in a medium size sauce pan. Cook over low stirring often to prevent cheese from sticking. Once all the cheese is melted you can move onto the next step, usually melts in about 10 minutes. While your melting this you can start making the pasta! Forget to take a picture of that!
In a 8x8 glass pan add the pasta, pour over the cheese sauce
DO NOT STIR! Next add your choice amount of mild cheddar over the top and a
little mozzarella. Then add breadcrumbs over top. Cook at 350F for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
This is lovely with so many meals and you can add a top more vegetables to it and substitute more to making it even lower in calories and fat.
Thank you reader for requesting this recipe I hope others can enjoy!
